its what I'd do were I concerned with dents and the parking lot was empty (and I parked far enough away from the store that it wasn't likely to fill up. I don't know why people get all in a way about this kind of thing. Why?

I park far away, or next to a parking lot island, and I walk. The chances of someone going to the farthest area of the lot parking real close to me and hitting my door are infinitesimal. It is arrogant and self centered to take up two spots for no reason. If you are afraid to park in a parking lot then walk. When I see a car parked in such a manner I spit on the driver side door handle.

Thats a pretty dick move. The argument wasn't if they were taking up good spots, I'm assuming walking already and taking up spots that aren't going to be used. Being a disk to someones car when they have gone out the way not to inconvenience you is...in the best of case...in super poor taste.
